I finally remembered to register my domain so I can put up a website to direct people to my YouTube channel for the most part.
If you don’t know me I’m a rapper and content creator from Portland, OR. My rap name is EmilianoRaps but when I’m making YouTube videos and writing about technology it’s EmilianoTechs. I started transitioning from rapper to content creator in 2022 but I never really completed the transition. It took me a long time to feel confident enough to publicly rap, I am very self conscious about being perceived as a try hard, and it’s taken me a bit to feel confident enough to make videos and put them up online where people can see them. So far I’ve done about 4 videos in 2 years. Not the best track record. But part of what was holding me back was not having a computer that could handle editing very well. My 2012 PC was still struggling even with 32 gb of RAM. My 2013 MacPro with 64gb of RAM was, honestly, not much better. And the mid (range) video card in the MacPro was slower at rendering than my mid range video card in my PC!
Amazingly, the entry level M1 MacBook (with 8gb of unified memory) does a much better job than either of those computers! So I’m back to editing video for other people but I have yet to start filming another video for myself. I have started writing several but I’m a LOT better at starting things than finishing them!
